Opening Salutation:
Front position. Bow. Return to front position. Step right foot out to horse stance. High cross block (right on top of left), with kiai, pulling fists back to elbow position.

#3 palm block, #2 sword hand block. Left front ball kick to mid-section, landing in a forward stance. Right front punch to center line. Right front ball kick to mid-section, landing in a forward stance. Left front punch to center line.

Place left hand on top of right. Turn 180 degrees counter-clockwise on ball of right foot to face Zone 7. Pull left foot up to full cat stance and roll hands up to elbow position. Execute high cross block to Zone 7 with right hand on top. Half-moon forward with left foot. Left inverted hammer strike to groin followed by a right downward front punch to navel, with kiai.

Draw left foot to right to face Zone 8 in tree stance as hands come to cup over saucer position at right hip. Low cross block to Zone 5, right fist on top, as left foot steps out to Zone 5 in a forward stance. Open right hand to tiger claw, hook under the attacker’s ankle and pull on foot clockwise to turn attacker’s back to practitioner. Release foot and strike with iron butterfly to spine, left hand on top. Left foot steps to Zone 5 on center line and helps the push as the strike hits. Left foot then steps to Zone 8 into a horse stance. Swing hands counter-clockwise to #2 driving sword hand (stopping at the center line) and #5 sword hand. Hold for a two second count.

Step right foot to Zone 8, facing Zone 1, as #3 sword hand block strikes inside of biceps and #2 sword hand strikes radial nerve. #4 palm blocks downward on a left hook as right hand comes back to elbow position. Right spear poke to the throat with kiai.

Pivot counter-clockwise on right foot to Zone 7, drawing left foot to full cat stance. #3 palm block covers face. Step forward with left foot and deliver a left dragon palm to the chin as right foot pulls up to crane stance. Right front ball kick to center line as right guard comes up with closed fist. Land in forward stance with kiai.

Turn counter-clockwise to Zone 8, drawing left foot to a full cat stance. #2 block is followed by a lunging left back punch to center line, with kiai.

Draw right foot up to left in tree stance, hands in cup over saucer position at left hip. Simultaneous right side kick and right backfist to Zone 6. Fist returns to elbow position and foot returns to crane stance before stepping down to a horse stance.
Draw left foot up to right in tree stance, hands in cup over saucer position on the right side. Simultaneous left side kick and left backfist to Zone 5. Fist returns to elbow position and foot returns to crane stance before stepping down to a horse stance.

Closing Salutation:
Right foot comes to left to face Zone 8 in a tree stance. Left front punch lands on top of right front punch; inhale and roll both hands to elbow position. Step out to Zone 6 with High cross block (right on top of left). Exhale with kiai, pulling fists back to elbow position. Front position. Bow. Set position.

Kata 2

Opening Salutation:
Front position. Bow. Return to Front position. Step right foot out to a horse stance. High cross block (right on top of left) with kiai, pulling fists back to elbow position.
Right foot half-moons back to Zone 7 as #8 palm blocks down to mid-section, then delivers crane hand strike upward to chin. Left foot half-moons back to Zone 7 as #7 palm blocks down to mid-section, then delivers right crane hand strike upward to chin. Left front ball kick to center mass as left guard comes up. Land left foot forward, facing Zone 8.

Pivot clockwise to Zone 3 in a full cat stance stance, right foot up. While in this position, move the guard to Zone 4. side kick with kiai to Zone 4, landing to Zone 2 line in a #9 ju ten do guard.

Step back to Zone 3 with right foot while delivering #2 ridge hand block. Step forward with right foot to Zone 2 while simultaneously delivering right whipping sword hand to left side of attacker’s neck and left whipping sword hand to attacker’s right floating ribs, with kiai.

Pivot counter-clockwise to Zone 3 on right foot as the left foot draws to a full cat stance, executing #3 palm block to cover the face. Step forward with left foot and deliver a left dragon palm to the chin. Right front ball kick with kiai to center line as right guard comes up with closed fist. Land in forward stance to Zone 3.

Left foot draws up to right, toes facing Zone 5, but the head turns to Zone 7. Hands form cup over saucer on the right hip. Half-moon with left foot to Zone 7, with simultaneous #2 block and right front punch. Hands move to cup over saucer on left hip. Half-moon with right foot to Zone 7, while delivering simultaneous #1 block and left front punch with kiai.

Turn guard to Zone 5. Without putting right foot down, deliver right back kick, front kick, and side kick with kiai, landing with guard still facing Zone 5.

Turn the guard to Zone 6, positioned in a side horse stance. Half-moon with the right foot to Zone 6 while executing #3 palm and #2 sword blocks. Low right front punch to navel as left hand loads at right shoulder, then left backfist to the left cheek of attacker, then repeat: Low right front punch to navel as left hand loads at right shoulder then left backfist to the left cheek of attacker, with kiai.

Closing Salutation:
Right foot comes to left to face Zone 8 in a tree stance. Left front punch lands on top of right front punch; inhale and roll both hands to elbow position. Kata 3

Opening Salutation:
Front position. Bow. Return to Front position. Step right foot out to a horse stance. High cross block (right on top of left) with kiai, pulling fists back to elbow position.

Step back with right foot and pull left foot to full cat stance as hands swing around to #5 sword hand and #2 sword hand guard. Switch feet to put right foot forward and left foot back, performing #1 ridge hand block, then #2 ridge hand block. Strike with low right spear poke to the groin and high left spear poke to the right side of the attacker’s neck. Left front ball kick to attacker’s sternum with kiai.

Turn to Zone 7 in clockwise motion to a full cat stance on right foot. #1 block, followed by a lunging right backfist with kiai. Turning counter-clockwise from Zone 7 back to Zone 8, put the left hand on the floor as the right foot performs an iron broom sweep through to Zone 2, body facing Zone 7.

From the iron broom sweep position, jump up to face Zone 7, delivering left stepping stool kick to mid-section of attacker. Land with #8 block on guard and deliver right backfist to right ribs with kiai.

Draw right foot to tree stance, positioning right hand low and left hand high across body, facing Zone 7. Step right foot out to Zone 5 to a horse stance. As head turns and body rotates toward Zone 6, pull left foot up to a full cat stance facing Zone 6 as #8 block drops low and right backfist strikes right ribs, all three moves simultaneous, with dynamic tension.

Step right foot to tree stance as hands come to circling tiger claws, crossing body with left hand in front, facing Zone 6. Step right foot to a horse stance. Turn head and rotate upper body toward Zone 8, pulling left foot up to a full cat stance facing Zone 8. #8 tiger claw block drops and #5 tiger claw block rises. All moves are simultaneous, with dynamic tension.

Step right foot to tree stance as hands come to twin immortal man positions, crossing body with left hand in front, facing Zone 8. Step right foot out to a horse stance. Turn head and rotate upper body toward Zone 5, pulling left foot up to a full cat stance facing Zone 5 as practitioner “draws the bow:” right hand goes back to the right ear as the left extends, both pointing to Zone 5, all three moves simultaneous, with dynamic tension.

Step from full cat stance to left foot forward stance. #3 palm to #2 sword block. Right dragon palm strike to center mass. Raise right guard, then deliver right front ball kick, back heel kick, then side thrust kick (with kiai), without setting foot down. Land in horse stance looking to Zone 8.

Swing guard around to Zone 7 by performing a #2 sword hand as #5 sword comes up with fingertips pointing to Zone 7. Cross left foot in front of right to a twist stance, then deliver left side kick to chest level at Zone 7 with hands on guard. Cross left in front of right, then step right foot to a side horse stance at Zone 8 as guard swings around towards Zone 7 by performing a #2 sword hand as #5 sword comes up with fingertips pointing towards Zone 7.

Perform #6 upward and forward block to Zone 7 under attacker’s right arm as right snake hand strikes under armpit. Jump under attacker’s right arm by stepping right foot forward to Zone 4. Step left foot back to Zone 7 as left elbow strikes a glancing blow to front of attacker’s right rib cage. Right tiger claw grabs groin and rips back as left sword hand strikes behind attacker’s right knee, felling attacker to back. Press attacker’s leg to outside of practitioner’s left thigh, holding with left outward sword hand on inside of attacker’s right ankle. Deliver downward right sword hand to center line of groin with kiai.

Look over right shoulder towards Zone 8 and step right foot to Zone 2, delivering #7 block and left front punch to center line with kiai.

Closing salutation:
Right foot comes to left to face Zone 8 in a tree stance. Left front punch lands on top of right front punch; inhale and roll both hands to elbow position. Right back punch from #5 position to attacker’s ribs, cocking left fist across body on right shoulder. Left backfist to attacker’s left cheek, with kiai.

Turn to Zone 6, pulling right foot to full cat stance, blocking with #1 and #6 blocks towards Zone 6. Right front ball kick to belt level, landing in forward stance. Left back punch from #6 position to attacker’s ribs, cocking right fist across body on left shoulder. Right backfist to attacker’s right cheek, with kiai.
Turn to Zone 2 and pull right foot to full cat stance while executing #3 block. Right front ball kick to belt level, landing in forward stance. Left back punch to attacker’s ribs; right fist cocks across body on left shoulder. Right backfist to attacker’s right cheek. Left front punch to Zone 2, with kiai, shifting weight 70% to the right foot and right fist returning to elbow position.

Draw left foot up to right; toes face Zone 6, head turns to Zone 8. Put hands in cup over saucer on right hip. half-moon to Zone 8 with left foot with simultaneous #2 block and right front punch to center. Put hands in cup over saucer on left hip. half-moon forward on the right foot to Zone 8, blocking with simultaneous #1 block and left front punch to center, with kiai.

Half-moon on the right foot to Zone 8 with simultaneous #7 parry, bouncing back to strike attacker’s right cheek with back of open right hand. Half-moon on the left foot to Zone 8 with simultaneous #8 parry, bouncing back to strike attacker’s left cheek with back of open left hand.

Half-moon backward with left foot to Zone 7 with simultaneous #1 ridge block, countering with right spear poke to attacker’s throat. Half-moon backward with right foot to Zone 7 with simultaneous #2 ridge block, countering with left spear poke to attacker’s throat, with kiai.

Step back on left foot to Zone 7 to side horse stance facing Zone 5. Press down with #7 and #8 palm blocks, then execute simultaneous #1 and #2 ridge blocks. Right spear poke to the throat and left spear poke to the inside of the attacker’s right groin, with kiai.

Step to Zone 8 with left foot into leaning stance towards Zone 8. Execute #7 block, then switch lean towards Zone 7, striking with a rolling backfist to bridge of the attacker’s nose, with kiai.

Right foot draws up to left in tree stance facing Zone 8, cup over saucer on the left hip. Right side kick with simultaneous right backfist to Zone 6. Bring fist back to elbow position and foot to crane stance before stepping down to a horse stance.

Spring to Zone 5 with a left rolling backfist as the right hand cocks across the chest, then spring to Zone 6 with a rolling right backfist to left side of attacker’s face, with kiai.
Step to Zone 8 with left foot, bringing guard up to Zone 8, delivering high right side kick to face of Zone 8 attacker. Land on right foot, drawing left into crane stance and covering body with #8 sword hand block and #5 sword block with palm facing Zone 7. Step down to Zone 7 with #8 parry to solar plexus level. spear poke with right hand under left arm to attacker’s solar plexus, then pull right hand out from under left and spear poke with right hand over top of left arm to the attacker’s throat. Rake eyes with double tiger claws, then right front ball kick to attacker’s face between tiger claws, with kiai, landing in right forward stance.

Look over left shoulder to Zone 8 as left foot draws to full cat stance, rotating body 180 degrees counter-clockwise. #2 block, drawing block down to left ribs. Lunge to Zone 8 to deliver left back punch to attacker’s throat, with kiai.

Position hands in cup over saucer on right hip. Look over right shoulder to Zone 4 and deliver right back snake kick to attacker’s throat, landing right foot forward to Zone 2. Parry with #8 block to cover front of left ribs, simultaneously striking with right spear poke to attacker’s trachea, with kiai.

Closing Salutation:
